2018 Everyday Makeup Essentials

Hi angels, it appears I took the WHOLE of 2017 out from creating content for my blog (unintentionally of course). Life has been pretty hectic and a lot has changed for me in the last 15 months and I am quite excited to share some of these experiences with you all.

Since getting my Marketing degree in 2014, I’ve been working tirelessly on pursuing my dream career in Social and Digital in the Beauty industry. Thankfully, hard work and determination has finally got me here and I have been spending my working days with beauty brands helping them evolve their digital marketing channels. Understandably Keeping Up With Kirby has taken a backseat due to this. Back in the day, this blog was pretty much my only creative outlet and since I have been busy creating content for other brands, my 'creative tank' has been pretty full. But now, I realise I miss creating my OWN content and writing about things that make me happy (and also lol). So,  what better way to get back into the swing of things than a dip into my everyday makeup essentials… because why not?

Burberry - Fresh Glow Luminous Fluid Base

Historically I’ve always been allergic to primer type products, but this one truly works wonders for me. It’s light, creamy and glides on over skin leaving a prepped and dewy base. Heaven. Plus it’s endorsed by Wendy Rowe so, winning.

Nars - Creamy Concealer

I suffer with dry skin, especially in winter months so using a hydrating concealer stops my makeup from flaking off (gross I know).  I use the shade ‘vanilla’ because I’m pale AF and I actually like to use it to contour around my face - bridge of nose, top of cheekbones etc.

Nars - Blush in Orgasm

Another NARS cult classic, of course in the shade Orgasm. Generally I’m not a blusher fan, but this shade suits me whether I’m embracing my true pale self or have just gone crazy with the Bondi Sands tan. It also comes in a cute compact with a mirror so it’s perfect for keeping in your handbag.

Too Faced - Better Than Sex Mascara

I promise I don’t just like this mascara because it’s pink and looks pretty in photos. Its thick wand catches every lash and creates super volume.

Charlotte Tilbury - Magic Cream

Just as the name insinuates, this cream is magic in a pot. It's actually a God send for me and my dry skin and combined with SPF it makes the perfect hydrating but non greasy day moisturiser (it also smells delish).

Mac - Give Me Sun Bronzer

I purchased this after hearing Desi Perkins RAVE about it on her YouTube channel and of course it’s now a daily staple. It’s that perfect bronze shade for not only contouring but also using all over the face/body, which gives you a little bronze pick me up.

Iconic London - Illuminator

Liquid gold in a bottle. I love using a liquid formula under a powder highlight because it really makes the pigment pop. P.S I'm already looking forward to getting a tan in the Summer months just so I can simply slather this ALL over my body.

Becca Cosmetics - Champagne Pop Highlighter

There’s one thing you must always have to hand and that is a highlighter, namely a Becca Cosmetics highlighter.  Although I just want to take this moment to say RIP to this angel. Tragic I know. If anyone knows how to fix this disaster, please help!

And that's it for now... I'm really looking forward to sharing more with you all!
